Headlight delay off - RX330

Has anyone been able to get their headlights to turn off without a delay when the engine is shut off? Dealer told me it can't be done - which I don't believe since I had it done on my RX300.

I park in a garage and don't need to run down the battery when parking and my garage door opener has a light delay in it. I also found out that the delay doesn't start untill the drivers door is opened and closed. The problem with this is that if you inadvertently don't close the door but leave it ajar the delay never starts so lights stay on.

Thanks for your help.

This works with the RX300, I would think it would for the RX330: Press the lock button twice when you lock the vechicle (from the remote) and the lights will turn off.

Don't know if it can be programmed by CBEST or not, but LexRX is correct about hitting "Lock" twice on the remote; this works for both the 300 and the 330. The added benefit is that you'll also know immediately that you left a door ajar...........

You can also just turn the lights from AUTO to ON and back again as you exit the car.

There is a CBEST setting for the amount of time the lights stay on once the vehicle is turned off (I believe it starts counting once the door has been opened and closed). I'd just stick to hitting the lock button twice; it's a cool effect.

I tried it on my RX 30 and it work perfect. No changes needed to the CBEST setttings.

Lights out!

Try this...

Three years ago in Utah, I had checked into my hotel for the night and gone to dinner. When I returned to the hotel, I parked the RX in the lot, locked the doors with the remote, and was walking away when a group of high-schoolers on their senior trip kindly reminded me my lights were still on. I thanked them, and said I'd just gotten the car, but kept forgetting to blow out the lights. They looked a little puzzled, so I demonstrated by walking a couple of steps toward the car, taking a deep breath and blowing as hard as I could.

The lights flashed off right on cue...and I walked away after thanking them again for reminding me, leaving a drop-jawed audience convinced that somehow I'd blown out my lights.

If you practice a time or two, you can get that jab of the remote button in your coat pocket perfectly synced with your "demonstration". Now that these remotes are pretty common, it may be difficult to find a mark, tho'... :p

Lights out

Went back to dealer and had another talk with him. C-BEST will turn your lights out with no time delay. They go off when the drivers door is opened which is what I wanted.

Thanks for your answers. -- Liked the blow them out idea.
