Good afternoon gentlemen, it has been a while. Proud owner of a is300 & now rx350 with very low miles excellent condition besides Navi issue 🤦🏻‍♂️. Had to let the sc400 go but man do I miss it.. anyways hopefully someone can give me some insight.
Navigation/radio unit will work at times or will display check system. So far I have sent out the unit for repair, no issues works fine according to repair facility. Tried replacing both amp and dvd drive in trunk with used parts no change. Checked all fuses all good. Thinking I have a power supply issue or even… I don’t want to say it a harness/junction block 💩. I am a former tech Toyota 10 years and Lexus 2 years (Fremont, Ca) but that’s about 8 years ago so it’s been a while since I was in the game.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am at the end of the road and about ready to bite the bullet and take it on to the “stealership” 🙏🏼

 

which unit did you send out for repair?
the DVD nav in the trunk will cause issues if disconnect.. perhaps the plug is loose? I would take it out unplug and replug first.

 

Thanks for the input Joe, I sent out my original unit as well as purchased a repaired one off eBay with the same outcome. Seems like I’m not getting power to rear dvd unit, radio, climate control & Navi unit. But out of nowhere it will turn on and work fine for 5-10 minutes. That’s why I’m leaning toward a power issue but kind of a worm hole without knowing where to start. Car has been very well maintained in a good climate “Bay Area” not too hot. With full service records so I’m trying to hold on to this one 🤞🏼 Starting to feel like best option is dealership, pay the $250-300 for diagnostic & be honest with what I have done and go from there because I don’t want a new car payment unless it’s a sports car lol my wife can wait 😂
