Default Newbie with Questions

Hi everyone. I purchased a 06 400h yesterday with 151K here on the big island of Hawaii where I live. The car is a two owner car, but has been intermittently used for the past several years due to a recurring issue with the VSC system. As I understand it (I'm trying to get records to verify the following), the car drives fine for a period of time, then just stops cold. After restarting it runs but lots of warning lights are illuminated. I drove it home and indeed all the lights were lit, and the VSC error message was blinking on the panel. I put a scan tool on it this morning and got the following:

U0124 Confirmed Data bus, lateral acceleration sensor module-no communication
U0123 yaw rate sensor module- no communication
C1357 ABS Status: confirmed
C1358 Same as above
I "cleared" the code several times but these came up repeatedly. Given these and the VSC message on the dash I'm surmising this is all related and some device is either inop because of a failure or possibly a faulty connection. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Also can someone reply with a way to obtain a shop manual for this car? Looking forward to enjoying this car when it's running correctly.

For wiring manuals on our cars, I bought the hard copy wiring genuine Lexus manuals on Flea Bay. They are dedicated books with all the wires on the car.
Also, for $20 for a 3 day membership, anyone can go to toyota techstream website and download all the wiring for your car and any mechanical repair info too!

Now about your codes.

Ok, please do me a favor and start over to make sure you aren't doing something to add more codes to the issue than what is really there.

On our cars I don't recommend "hot plugging & unplugging" the scanner into the scanner plug because with some scanners it will cause some of the codes you listed so make sure the keys are off and out of ignition before plugging in or unplugging your scanner.

Please try in this exact order:
1) unhook negative terminal of battery for 10 mins.
2) hook up battery.
3) plug in scanner into scanner port -keys should be off and out of the ignition-
4) turn key to on but don't start car, only want power to run scanner, now write down all codes.
5) turn off ignition and remove keys
6) unplug scanner
7) come back here and report all codes and note any that are different or have changed.

If we still see the same codes after this, we will cross that bridge later.

PS- and this is important. Can you verify this scanner is compatible with our cars >>> Another words, have you successfully scanned for codes on this car when it was running well and it did not display these codes. Need to rule this out too.

Well let me catch up here on this situation. I have been reading and troubleshooting stuff for several days, and realized that the DLC is not functioning as it should. Reading the shop manual I several times to access the test mode using a paperclip to no avail. I printed up all 5 pages of the Skid Control ECU and taped them together to so to see the functionality, and realized that several things were not functioning, maybe everything, as when I am driving when I applied the brakes the RF tire would lock up, i'm guessing that is a "limp home mode" thing. So I determined that something was up with the Skid Control ECU, Yesterday I started accessing the space behind the glovebox and found what looks like a mouse or rats nest on top of the glove box housing. Finally I got to the ECU and the problem became obvious immediately....four wires were broken to the top connector, which I will attempt to upload here. Probably eaten by rats although I also suspect that some shop was in there and may have broken the wires as the wire bundle casing had been cut down for more visibility. Who knows? So now I need to figure out how to de-pin the four. Any advice on this depinning would be appreciated, as I see the place to unlock the pins, but can't seem to withdraw it far enough to pull any pins out, I'm kinda sick of watching Utubes to try and see how to do this!
