Hello, I wouild appreciate any help in resolving issues with my 2nd. gen. RX.
Vehicle - RX350 2nd gen 2007, AWD. 330K highway miles.
2021-22 Replaced - NGK plugs, Denso coils, Battery, Alternator, MAF sensor, Front drivers side bearing, Steering rack, 4 shocks, 4 brakes pads and rotors and
Tail lamps (car doesn't like LED's). Ignition coil cable connectors are brittle but mechanic applied non conductive silicone to hold them in place.
After all this, the Check Engine/VSC light came on and the engine would essentially stall but ONLY when in stop and go traffic. I switch the engine off for about a half hour and it starts.
Code said something about 2nd cylinder misfire so I replaced that ignition coil but the problem persists again only in stop and go traffic. At highway speeds the car RUNS FINE even with the
check engine light on. Since it seems to run fine on main roads and highways I would like to keep it going. Everything else works just fine.

Where did you buy the coils, are they actually Denso? I ask because the market is infested with fakes. Would be nice to know the exact code. My hunch says your charging system is flaky due to the alternator.

 

Have you switch a couple of coils around? Is the gap of the plugs good?

 

Mine was resolved yesterday at the dealership by replacing the purge valve (whatever that is!!)
