Quick question about radiator cap

Default Quick question about radiator cap

Hey all about to change my radiator, i ordered a new cap from lexuspartsnow and it says 108kpa on it, which is 15.6psi according to google, from what ive seen 16si is stock, i have fwd btw. Should i get a different one?

That shows 88 kpa on the cap, which is 12.8 psi. If 16 psi is stock, 15.6 is fine, 12.8 is not.

Nope, it says its the "replaced by" version, which is the most up to date part if im not mistaken, looks orange i used my vin on the website, says it fits my 2001 FWD

I did some part # checking Toyota/Lexus made a total mess of this, multiple parts change up multiple times. Depending on the year and model you may or may not get the same pressure rating.

15.6 vs 16 is a small difference and the stated pressure is when the relief valve kicks in. The working psi is typically a safe distance away.

I would measure the diagram of the seal and the locking mechanism [it should not fit loose].

Well boys she's got a new radiator now, all put back together, so far no leaks, cap seems fine so far, now she just needs these lower control arms put in, just put on all new strut assemblies from FSC, I'll let y'all know how it goes!

I'd like to thank @thaeleelyr for the very informative guide
