Bitter sweet goodbye
The time has come for me to deliver this 01 RX300 Silversport to my mother in Oregon. I picked this up a couple months ago as an upgrade to her falling apart 03 Mitsubishi Outlander. I went crazy on this thing and have over $7G into it including purchase price and replacing everything myself. I don't even drive such a fine vehicle myself. This one has a completely new steering and suspension, brakes and tires. Every component you can think of, perfect alignment, Everything new engine maintenance wise and then some. No leaks whatsoever, all new fluids, replaced door lock actuators, electric antenna, anything not working etc. Even put in a new starter, alternator, battery, and fuel pump so there will be no failures in the near future. A/C system on point, you name it!
Put a lot of time and work into it and just did a full detail inside and out. It will be sad to see it go, yet a good thing to get my mother into a good dependable vehicle. The reason for going so crazy on it was that I was sending money for repairs on the outlander a couple times a year for the same work I do . Window regulators going out, ***** breaking off the hvac controls, clunky suspension, overheating. Thats all about to end! Plus and upgrade in style and luxury for her. This Sunday I will be driving it from San Diego midway through Oregon to deliver, then drive back the Outlander to fix up then sell. Hoping no components are defective and that the trip goes smoothly.
Thanks to all who helped me when I had questions. I'll still check in to help this part of the forum

I sometimes wonder what is special about Lexus RX300 Silver color paint that it still looks flawless after 19-20 years. I have not see any other make/model of the car hold their metallic paint so well.

It is a nice one for sure. Millennium Silver is the paint name. I think it's a little different than other Lexus silvers, maybe special for the Silver-sport model? Anyways, when I found it, I couldn't pass it up. My mother is very pleased with it. It made the trip up perfectly and I made sure to check things when I got there. No oil consumption, or any leaks etc. Should be a sweet ride for a great many years. And the RX330 or 350 wheels on (can't remember what I got) totally update the look!

Thanks! It had 135,000 when I dropped it off.
