Default Mom just bought a 02' RX300 - Help!

Hey guys, mom just bought a 02 rx. She loves it. We haven't had the car a day but I'm looking to change some stuff right off the bat so we as a family know where we are with the car.

122k miles

Thought about doing this;
LED Lights for the low-beams and fogs.
Oil change + filter (obviously, lol)
Cabin filter
NGK spark plugs

What else you guys think?

Nayss...!
What... no fuzzy dice or hula girl on the dash board?
First i'd check the condition of her brakes/rotors and tires.
Check outside lights like brake lights, licence and tailights.

Check for oil leaks.
...and then the major stuff begins.

Will do, thanks man. Does the 02 come with OEM hid or can I just replace the bulbs with LEDs?

When you turn on the headlight, you could easily tell if it's HID or halogen.
Has timing belt been replaced?

Congratulations on the purchase.

I would focus on getting all the service items upto date and check the status of brake pads, date of manufacture of tires, have a good visual of the under-side and suspension checked out for leaks, rust etc.

After thought LED and HID lights are more for others and for real advantage in light, the change process is complex and if done right can be expensive. I would categorize as cosmetic change. If that is important to you, dont let me discourage you.

Do you know what a J-O-B it is to replace the spark plugs? And if I were doing the plugs, I would opt for Denso, not NGK. And while you're "in there", you should inspect whether the valve cover gaskets are leaking...even slightly...and whether you should replace the rear valve cover, as the older original design caused excessive oil consumption, and other problems. And then there's the Idle Air Control Valve sticking issue. These could keep you busy for a while!

Drain and fill the transmission. DON'T flush.
