Default antenna?

I need to replace my radio antenna. I saw a write up about doing this but now I can't find it. I looked in the DIY section and didn't find it. I must be missing something but does anyone know where to find instruction for doing this?

Hi, Phil!

I remember using that DIY myself. I looked again after your post, and I see the link in the list of DIY's, but it didn't work for me. I don't know why it apparently has disappeared.

Ah! I ignored that one because it said "antenna mast" rather than "antenna motor." My mistake. Thanks for finding that!

Phil, you'll find it takes a little time, but it's very easy. Make sure you get that drain hose inserted back down the hole and reconnect the power to the antenna motor before reassembly. That mistake happened to someone I know....

The antenna mast on my car is OK but it has no tail on it so you can lift it out any time and it doesn't go up or down. I want to check if the old tail is wound up in the drum before I feed in the new one. Can I check this with out removing the motor assembly? I can hear the motor run so I think it is OK.

If the white plastic gear line is not attached to the mast then it must be wound up inside the motor.

You will need to remove some interior paneling and open the motor assembly to remove that line, then follow those antenna mast install instructions.
