Exclamation 1999 RX 300 Electrical Issues

Hello. I am new to the club. I discovered this website trying to find what is wrong with my Lexus. The issue is that it turns over for a few seconds when trying to start, and the clock is reset to 1:00 AM. It's not the battery or alternator for sure. I JUST bought new ones and put in the car hoping to fix the issue, but it did not. I am scared not knowing what the issue is.

The clock resets when the voltage drops below a threshold. Make sure the new battery is the correct size, is fully charged, and passes a load test.

I would want to rule out bad battery cables, or connections to ground and starter. And do you know if the starter solenoid has ever been rebuilt? It's a common problem on these vehicles, and rebuilding is cheap and relatively easy.

+1 This is perfect advice. At times the new battery is in reality not fresh. Once shipped from manufacturer, they need to be charged by the retailer. The retailer typically cycle their stock and charge 8 or 10 at a time. Once in a while they end up selling a discharge battery.
