RX 300 radio PLEASE HELP
Good afternoon, new to the site I've been reading a lot of great suggestions in help with my problem I'm having but I'm a bit confused I hope someone can help. My wife and I purchased an immaculate 99 RX300 for a great price. My wife is in love with the vehicle she's just getting over the local radio stations. I would love to add an aux cord so she can plug in her phone and listen to her music.Ive seen kits that add a radio below the AC controls which I'm ok with purchasing I just don't know where I could find a harness that can plug into the factory harness. It has the nakamichi stereo system which seems to make it more difficult. Im open to all suggestions and I hope someone can help.Thank you for your responses ahead of time.

I've been very happy with the GROM adapter in my daughter's '99. About $100, as I recall. It replaces the CD changer, plugging in behind the glovebox. I haven't been in the car for a long time, but I think the radio/cd controls will change songs on the iPod or iPhone. This only works with the non-Nakamichi stereo. I have a different wired-in adapter for my '99 with Nakamichi.

I replaced "blue screen radio", with the one that works with Sat/Nav (https://obrazki.elektroda.pl/8810505200_1398153915.jpg) - no sat nav plugged in as I do not use it.
Original cd changer is now replaced with SD & Bluetooth changed by Yatour - works great.
I listen to Spotify in a car, internet radio + got proper hands free.

thank you for your replies, THRS what adapter did you use for the stereo with Nakamichi? I've read about the GROM device but it does not work with the nakamichi as I'm sure you know otherwise I would love to use it.

Yatour should be on eBay for around $80 (bit more in Poland where I bought it). As far as I remember it has the same plug/socket as the original CD changer. Sa all you do is replug 2 cables...+ a microphone (included) if you wish to use handsfree

Hmmm.. I got the one you can see in the picture above... I needed new radio due to different FM frequencies used in Europe.
However., think the Yatour CD changer replacement will work straight out of the box. You plug cables going in CD changer into Yatour and that is it...
I still got CD changer at home so if the part no will help you, let me know and I'll check it.
I got one that looks more square, not the rounded one. Perhaps write to sellers and ask?

There is more to it.
If I am not mistaken, with Nakamichi system, you have to leave the CD changer inside the vehicle and load CD and fake it to play CD while the audio line is hijacked to inject A-x_in. The NaK system has serial control link and if CD is not playing the system defaults to radio.
Again I have not used any AUX-IN products, so check with the manufacturer/seller.

It seems that you have to purchase a special adapter called a Y adapter and then the yatour device will work. I emailed the company and am awaiting a response. Thank you for all the replies

Sorry for the delay. I found the eBay invoice. It's a PAC iSimple IS77 Modulated Aux input. $43.99 in 2013. It hardwires into the car, and part of it is a piggyback adapter to the antenna as I recall with the installation. The sound is great. I wired an on-off switch into a blank panel near the seat heater switches. The radio is tuned to FM 87.9 to operate it. Inexpensive product, nice result.
