I just bought an RX300 from auction without keys. I think I have that part worked out but the Glove box is out when I went to get it. there are three sets of wires hanging. one with yellow wire shielding one with brown shielding and one larger connector with I am guessing 10-20 wires in an rectangular pigtail anyone know what these wires go to? I don't see anything obvious missing,

I'm betting it's the CD player. I'm about to install a Grom HD radio tuner along with hands-free calling bluetooth interface for my phone, and they have a helpful video that shows what's behind the glove box...the CD player. any idea where the amp is? you were right, it was the cd changer, but apparently there is a Nakamichi amp and a Pioneer amp. each uses a different cd changer. so in order to get the right changer, I need to know which amp it has.

I think the amps are under the front seats. I didn't realize the CD changers are different. I know the dash center console radio portion is interchangeable between both kinds of radios; they may even be the same unit. I have two '99's each with a different sound system, and I temporarily swapped them just out of curiosity.

In the Nakamichi system I believe that the amp is behind the rear seat.

There's also a connector for the glove box light.

Amp is just under/behind the right rear seat.
I replaced mine last year and i had to take both seats out to access it.
Maybe try to take the R/R seat out first and see if you can snake it out that way.

not wanting to take it out, I just need to see if it is a pioneer or nakamichi as the cd changers are different depending on the amp. I will probably never use the changer but I want it there if it was to begin with lol.
