Door lock actuator?
Did all Lexus models made around 2001 use the same door lock actuators? What about Toyota's?

Thank you. I am hoping to head to Pick n Pull in the next few days for door lock actuators. Now I need the front passenger and rear drivers side. If I have time I think I will just get them all for future.

I would advise against pick and pull as a source for door lock actuators. These parts get over used .. lock-unlock-lock-unnlock and wear out. Granted it can depend upon the programming .. driver only or all doors. And the aggravation to fix every time a failure happens is too much [imho]. Also the clips/fasteners/even-the-door-panel gets weak under stress of opening.
There is lot more effort .. replace the motor or recently fully assembled but cheap aftermarket. I would replace the motor or the part and be done for another 10 years or so. Salim |

I just had my rear passenger actuator go out (2000 RX300 wasn’t locking/unlocking) and was able to find a pick-in-pull with a fresh vehicle on the lot. So I grabbed two complete rears with handle mechanism for $8.99 ea. I went in thinking that I would just replace the white actuator assembly from the handle connections. When it looked too tedious I just decided to replace the whole door handle with actuator assembly and found it was quite simple, and worked perfect. Unfortunately most yards don’t offer cash refunds, only credit for a defective/wrong part, but at $8.99 for functioning OEM I’m satisfied. |

If you look at the other posts, the real answer is to just change the little motor inside the actuator.
Around $5 each on ebay and will only take you an extra 5 min. vs. changing the entire actuator. |
