Unhappy P0370 & no overdrive... Knock sensor?

All-

2000 RX300 hasn't been shifting into overdrive (and has been having intermittent issues with acceleration). Took it to a mechanic that told me it was a transmission issue and the only code it was throwing was for a bad knock sensor. The transmission guy told me that the knock sensor code is likely keeping the transmission from shifting in OD and possibly the acceleration issue. I was all ready to implement the hack to bypass the malfunctioning knock sensor: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ck-repair.html, but then the transmission guy told me the code it was throwing was P0370. I have not found anyone talking about this code. The description is: P0370 Timing Reference High Resolution Signal "A" Malfunction .

1.) Is this code possibly keeping my RX from shifting into overdrive?
2.) Is this code related to the knock sensor? If so, which one (#1 or #2)?
3.) Will the hack of connecting both knock sensor wires to the working knock sensor fix the issue?

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

1. Have you tried clearing the codes and for a short time (before the code pop up again), how does the vehicle behave?
2. Once you narrow down to knock sensor as an issue, the amount of teardown, replace both and the harness. Only buy oem and from a reputable place [don't skimp ... labor is substantial and not worth taking the risk with shady product]
3. Club Lexus can only endorse legal repairs. Altering emission related wiring is illegal in many states.
