Tail Gate Only Stays Open Above a Certain Temp
Kinda funny and strange, but why does my RX 300s tailgate only stay open above a certain ambient temperature? I believe when it gets below around 55F it simply won't stay open and closes on itself. Is the gas inside the hydraulics not expanding enough at those temps??
Really not a big issue since I live in Arizona, but just curious (since it happens sometimes during winter time).

Very common problem, very easy fix. Replace struts.
I also noticed on your first post TechyInAz that you have the other universal RX300 problems: drooping visors and failed door lock actuators.
Drooping visors are a cheap & easy fix: put neodymium magnets between the visor and the ceiling. I used these. I think I needed four on each visor so I had to buy a couple packs to do both side with extras left over. I tried the other fixes to try to restore proper operation first but they failed miserably so don't bother. Just get the magnets.
Door lock actuators are a cheap fix but they take some effort. It is totally worth it though! Go here and don't be intimidated because it really is not as hard as it sounds. I paid $300 to the dealer to fix the first door, and $5 for a motor to fix the second one, and $17 for an to fix the third. I'm expecting the actuator will be a lot easier than the motor.
Good luck,
Owen

thank you everyone! I'll definitely replace the struts by this winter if i have time.
owen, going back to my door actuator problem, so how do i know if it's an actuator or a motor problem? When i press the door lock button, the door locks make their normal loud clicking noise, but they don't fully flip into either the closed or open position. I'm assuming all 4 locks have an actuator problem.
