i've seen that video before, good vid...but doesn't address if the rear plastic cover is a necessity to remove if you don't plan to change cam seals. The video clearly removes the cam gears and plastic for the intention of cam seal replacement. It would be a big time saver if cam gears and the rear cover do not need to be removed to slide off/on the water pump. Just looking for confirmation.

thanks for listing your problems you faced, but take no offense..you just posted answers to questions that no one asked here. ..but may be useful in a formal timing belt diy FAQ thread. It was a pointed question.

No offense taken. I am here to help ,, you can choose to use anything I say and ignore what you dont want to take,
The first time I did TB replacement. I did not touch the cams (other than holding them in position).
Dont overthink the process and deal with the issues as you face them.
