Whiplash transmission with RX300
 

Test drove a 2003 RX300 with 161,000 miles on it. Actually drove pretty well. Only big issue was when automatic trans shifted from 1-2 and 2-3 there was a little kick to it. I'm not going to say complete whiplash but enough kick to notice, not completely smooth. When I did a trans test of dropping it from 3 to 2 at 35 MPH I did however get the big horse rinnie pretty rapidly so trans appears to be ok. Anybody have experience with this and if this is an issue in the making? Thank you,, PF

Do you know what the trans fluid looked and smelled like? It might be that the fluid needs to be changed because I have a 92 ES300 that would act up a little before the fluid was changed. Also, what is the engine idling at? Too high of an idle makes the trans act funny too.
