So my car battery died and it was sitting for a few days. I had the car jumped and I had my spark plugs changed with valve covers replacement at the same time. The mechanic created a evap leak that will be fixed soon. So the next day it was raining and I left the windshield wipers on and I come out the next day, my battery died again. I got another jump, had my battery and alternator checked. Everything was good. I drive the car now and there is jerking when accelerating from 1st to 2nd. After that car drives smooth. The following codes are there p0302, p1351, and p0171, the timing belt has been changes, so has OCVs and drive belts. Any reason that this transmission jerk may be happening. Is this related to the ECU?

With that many changes and work done, it is hard to pin point to any one thing yet.
I would say let things stabilize and then note the codes and then do a reset of codes and examine again.

In the mean time make sure OEM plugs were used.

Also investigate, why the battery is dying.

So I took it by a mechanic who told me that it may be the ignition coils that may be causing the transmission issues. Has anyone heard of this before?

check or ask your mechanic to check the grounds connected to the intake manifold. I had similar symptoms due to a loose ground on my first attempt of replacing the rear valve cover gasket.

Yes, this is possible, but but not necessarily the case. Try switching coil #2 with another coil and see if the code changes.
