Possible CD Changer Swap from 2000 GS to 2000 RX??
I posted this in audio, to no avail... maybe some of you have some input?
I just purchased a 1st Gen RX. There is no CD changer in the glove box.
In my previous post, I stated that I gifted my 2000 GS 400 to my nephew... Prior to that, I installed an in-dash, so the CD changer was not being used.
I was wondering if it would be possible to take the CD Changer out of my old 2000 GS and install it into my new RX, since they're both 2000?
In a quick eBay search, I found that the GS CD Changer Part Number is: 86270-30150 and then underneath those numbers are: CDX-M8076zt.
For the RX, it is: 86270-48020 and then underneath those numbers are: CDX-M9086zt.
This makes me believe, this might not be possible.
I also did some research on Google to no avail, as well.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am going to muddy the waters here instead of giving any clarity ...
Devices in Lexus have a serial control input [the protocol is Lexus proprietary on top]. Generic components with audio in-out just have a connecter issues, but in this case I would insist on matching the part numbers exactly.
