Unhappy 2001 RX300 - Missing-not shifting

New here. Got a 2001 RX300. Was running fine until code for knock sensor went off and put it in limp mode. Replaced both knock sensors and wiring harness/pigtail. While into it, replaced all 6 spark plugs, mass air flow sensor, 2 new OCV (s), new timing belt, tensioners and water pump. Now,...VSC light comes on briefly at start up, goes away for a second or two, then comes back on and stays on. Did the zero point calibration hack w/ a paperclip and still have VSC light. Rough ideling at start-up, whining noise, even when parked. Takes a couple seconds or two to engage in reverse to back out of garage, wont shift on time-will totally miss out going from 1st to second (will rev up to high rpms), have to completely let off gas for it to go into 2nd and 3rd and when it does go in gear it'll jerk a knot in your neck. Plenty of fresh transmission fluid ( no metal flakes in it), fresh motor oil and premium gas, new air filter. Can't find any disconnected hoses, wires, etc. Runs fine once in high gear and cruising. It's like the timing is off. Again, only constant VSC light is on. Please help-would pull my hair out if I had any.

Thanks folks,
Tom

Welcome to ClubLexus.

I always suggest do one thing at a time. With that much work it becomes hard to retrace your footsteps when things go wrong.

Please go over and check if any and wire has been left disconnected ... the not so obvious wires are between the engine and firewall.

Also have the codes read as there may be pending codes lurking around.

Yep, definitely sounds like a ground. I had the same symptoms myself when i forgot the ground after doing the rear valve cover gasket.

I'll have to remember this ground wire mentioned here when I do my rear valve cover to avoid any issues...
