rear passenger door lock issue
Hi all,
My rear passenger door doesn't open with remote or driver door switch. However, it does lock. I have to manually unlock the door from the inside to open it. Kind of a pain when trying to get the baby in and out of the car. Does it need a new door lock module? Thanks! |
Hard to say. I would probably open the panel and test the door lock motor.
Manual says for Rear RH door, there is a 4 pin connector Battery positive to 4, ground 3: LOCK Battery positive to 3, ground 4: UNLOCK |
Check out the sticky of DYI's (post #22). The motor dieing out the lock actuator is a common issue. I used the instructions in that link to successfully fix mine. The only thing you have to worry about is getting a replacement motor that turns in the proper rotation. I did not run into that issue, but you can read up from those that have in the thread. Alternatively you can purchase an replacement actuator.

That's a good sticky.
From his post it sounds like the motor works for locking but not unlocking. Don't know if that would point to the motor, the motor control, or some issue in the gearing and linkage |
I recently replaced the rear passenger side lock motor. i had similar symptoms. My guess you will need to do the same thing. It was kind of tricky and there is a thread on this site that helped me.
