Hesitation

Having hesitation at 2000 rpm like a bucking but if I let off or push on gas it go's away, my guess was a bad coil pack but its only throwing a maf sensors code any ideas?

Drcoffee 07-25-16 02:36 PM

I don't know about the bucking at 2000rpm but the MAF will affect the transmission and shifting. It might be bouncing back and forth between the convertor locking and unlocking. Clean it or replace the MAF. it really is a maintenance part and wears out.

Long shot, but it could be the MAF sensor.

;)

I cleaned it and the cel went off then came back on

Sounds like it needs to be replaced. When you install the new MAF disconnect the battery for a while to reset the computer

Coil pack should trigger misfire.

My bet is the oil control valves. I had this problem a few years ago, but the error codes in the computer don;t indicate it. the OCVs do not have a feedback loop to the computer so if they act up you get weird error codes such as bad banks of coil packs, MAF sensor, A/F sensors on exhaust. There are several combinations of bad codes, depends on the bank and how bad it is malfunctioning.

So I went ahead and tried to find a vacuum leaks and sprayed all possible vacu me areas with carb cleaner did not hear a change in idle at all but when I looked at the dash now no cell was on!!! If it comes back I'm definitely going to change the ocv. Thanks for your response

I found a seller on ebay who was selling a pair of OCVs from toyota OEM for $75. It might be worth grabbing them now rather than wait and have to buy Dorman aftermarket parts.
