yea; I only got the noise I was referring to when i first started my rx yesterday morning. After several stops, etc and turning the vehicle off and on the noise seemed have gone away for now. I dont know how long before it decides to come back though. I would rather not have to replace either servo or both especially because I dont have 100+ bucks to spend on replacements right now. Im on a fixed income at the moment.

That loud buzzing comes and goes on mine also, but the mode button no longer changes anything. Flat rate labor on these replacements is 3 hours, so you're looking at $450 (independent) to $750 (dealer) to get it replaced. The part is $120 to $150, depending on which one has gone bad.

Just ordered the part (above). I've installed my own car audio systems for years so I'm used to contorting under the dash. Just hope my rotator cuff holds out!

Just checking but you did check to make sure you was ordering the right one of the two right? i've only seen the lower one, haven't really checked anything above the lower one because it was the one making the noise

Yes, thanks, I ordered the mode servo and confirmed the part number against other references (87106-30371).

Before you remove the old one .. make sure you cycle through and bring the arm of the old to match the position in the new. Then it is an easy swap.

+1, its easiest to keep pushing the mode button till the servo arm is at full extension.

Right now, I don't think the worm gear is turning so I don't think I'll be able to cycle through the modes to extend the arm(?)

You an gently assist by pushing.
Worst case, detach and push the arm manually

my mode broke last year and i think there were different sounds like clicking and buzzing. fixed it and the sounds went away. unfortunately the temp servo died right after and i couldn't get cold air. haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

Yeah, I was debating on replacing both of them while I was in there but, then, where do you stop?

In retrospect, I would take the system off from Auto. The Auto mode overworks the mode servo (imho).
