Window motor prices
My RF window is stuck in the up position. I moved the master switch over to the RF door but no joy. The master did control both rear windows from that position though. So, out of curiosity I went to see how much a motor would cost. The window motors for the LF window can be had on ebay for $100ish but the RF motors are all $400ish! My question is, has the RF window failed so much that they are in that high of a demand? If so, any guesses as to why the RF would fail so often?
Thanks!,

Consider that if your motor has failed it may just need the brushes cleaned. Or it may need new brushes which you can match up to some online. And if cleaning or brush replacement isn't your bag then consider that the motors are the same left to right but the housings are different and you could swap the motor guts from a new left to an old right housing.
I have no idea about the failure rates of left vs right motors like you asked about, though.

Did you try just powering the motor directly? For front passenger door:
- Positive to motor terminal 1, negative to 2: motor turns clockwise
- Reverse polarity, motor turns counter clockwise

Thanks everyone.
Z07, it didn't occur to me to replace the brushes until I saw your post. It made me curious and I looked on youtube and found a good video showing just this kind of repair. Lucky for now it's stuck in the up position. Today I'll be sanding my replacement rear bumper cover getting it ready for painting. After that I'll take another go at the window. I will be sure to update when I try the direct power method.
