OEM Radio, Amp, & Sub + Aftermarket Bass Tube
 

Hey guys, I have hit my patience limit on this install so I'm throwing out a Hail Mary! All advice is welcomed because I feel as if my brainstorming sessions are getting nowhere. Unfortunately for me, this seems to be the only bass tube / car combination that has never been mentioned online.

I was asked to install a Bazooka EL8A bass tube into a friend's 2000 RX300. I almost exclusively work on Toyota 4Runners, but figured the similarities between a Toyota and Lexus would make this an easy hookup. (That was my first mistake).

The previous owner of the RX had obviously tried (and failed) to switch out the OEM radio and in the process, botched the wiring and harness. All of the wires going to the radio have been shortened to the nub, duct taped, glued, or split onto various cables that lead nowhere. You can imagine my frustration....

That being said, I still need to find a way to connect this tube and I would like to stay away from the danger zone, aka radio. I am not familiar with the Pioneer units in this vehicle so I would appreciate any input yall may have!

Just to summarize all that:
Car
- 2000 Lexus RX300
Installed Equipment
- OEM Radio / Head Unit
- OEM Pioneer Subwoofer (under passenger seat)
- OEM Pioneer Amplifier 86100 (between 2nd row seats and cargo trunk)
- OEM 6 CD Changer (in glove box)
Needs to be Installed
- Bazooka EL8A-hp 8 inch Amplified Bass Tube

Cables from tube that I have CONNECTED or not going to use:
- Black (ground cable) : already connected to chassis
- Red (direct power) : already connected to battery
- Orange (remote) : not going to use, it will stay be on auto on/off
- Blue (low-level RCA plugs) : OEM systems in place do not have RCA outputs/inputs to my knowledge
- Yellow (jumper loop) : not going to use, stays connected for auto on/off)

Cables from tube that still NEED TO BE CONNECTED (all are High Level Speaker Inputs):
- Green (left +)
- Green / Black (left -)
- Grey (right +)
- Grey / Black (right -)

Overall Question - Where would be the best place to split/attach these Hi-Lev cables to the stereo system? (Keeping in mind that behind the radio is not a viable option right now)

For hi inputs, trace the wires leading to the sub-woofer (speaker) of RX.

Sorry! too cryptic for me. Is that some sort of connector?

Once you have found the wires, I prefer soldering and using heat shrink tubing. If you tap in the middle, I do not recommend cutting the wire, instead just pull back the insulation, but then you can not get a shrink tubing on. If you have the right tool, you can release the pin from the connector and then you can slide a shrink tubing on it. Electrical tape does fine too, but I hate the gummy kind as they leave a sticky colored residue.
