Hi everyone,

I'm considering having this professionally installed at a local shop with good reviews for a total all in cost of $650. My main reasons are so I can have access to Bluetooth for my iPhone 5s, backup camera, and HD radio. My car now has the original radio with CD player and no navigation.

I would appreciate any comments or advice from folks with experience with this. I could not find any threads for this model on this very helpful forum. I don't have enough skills to even attempt to install this myself.

You are going to encounter multiple issues. I would suggest that you ask the shop to show you the finished results on a vehicle.

1. Cosmetic fit and finish: RX is equipped with non-standard audio system. Non nav buttons interact with the radio.

2. The audio level between components CD-Radio-Amp are non standard [dual-differential (type), voltage level (not 1v rms)]. Does the installation require new power amp.

3. Lexus uses serial communication protocol between components. If the amp and head unit(with radio) are removed then would it require a change in CD player. May be you dont need CD player any more and the whole thing can be gutted.

At the end, would the looks, finish and features work for you? Only you can decide.

How you add double din radio in a single din radio set up? Think it twice before you pay. Ask them the setup of your RX's for ac/heat control?
