Default RX300 chirping/clicking sound

I'm a recently retired corporate slave and really enjoying my liberation!!

I serviced and did my own repairs into my 20's then became a dealership-aholic simply because i had no time, I'm sure many of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I have an 2000 RX 300 and decided to try doing some repairs myself and have really enjoyed it, so far I've done front and rear brakes, replaced timing belt (had some help with this one), and changed the oil and filters, planning to replace the air fuel sensor tomorrow. sorry for rambling.

I get an intermittent sound while idling at stop lights or parked, sounds like its in the cab but can't be absolutely sure. Its a clicking chirping sound, like a fluid or gas passing through a valve thats not stuck but struggling. It comes and goes and is driving me crazy. This 2WD RX300 has 206000 miles and I'm the original owner.

If anyone has experience with this or can make suggestions to diagnose its greatly appreciated.

Next time you hear it press Mode on the HVAC and see if it stops. Could be the diverter (known issue)

I have a chirping sound as well in my 2003 rx300. My noise is coming from the blend door actuator which is under the passenger front dash near the floor. It got stuck once, I "lightly" tapped it and it started working again. This happened about a year ago and has been working fine since. It still makes the noise but has not stuck any more. It is very easy to check yours. Just stick your head in the floorboard on the passenger side. Good luck.

I can bet you that it's with the HVAC system it's that little servo motor that directs air to your feet, face or defroster
