Default Connector for center brake

Anybody know where I can get a replacement connector for the center brake light? Or how I can get the pins out to rebuild them? I have tried and tried to get a positive contact, but whenever I wiggle the wires the light goes out.

Thanks!

One possibility would be to get one from a RX300 at a junk yard (automotive recycling center) and splice the cables.

Update: After struggling with this intermittently for several years, I discovered that one of the terminals inside the socket was loose. I extracted it from the socket, bent it a little so it would hold more firmly, snapped it back into the socket, and have had no problems ever since.

Thanks!

You can get replacement pins from Lexus.

They have a box full of various connector pins. You do have to take one out though and match with what they have. My issue [other than the price] is that when you cut the old one off, it shortens the wire and when you put the new one in, the wire gets under tension. I always add 2" piece and then solder the other end to the harness side.

In the end it is lot cheaper to buy the plug_with_2" wire from a salvage yard and replace the pin and solder the harness end.

One of these days I will buy the release tool .. till then it is jiggling with a jewelers screwdriver.
