Filler neck refueling problem 2001 RX300
Refueling problem. The station pump cuts off after a second or two. Reducing the flow gives little help. Holding the nozzle at 2:00 trying to center it in the filler neck and lifting it about an inch from full insertion helps, but there must be a better way. 2001 RX300

Seems with the RX that you have to pump it half way to get it going right. I've read that pumping it at half gives the vapors time to escape and gives you a better filling experience, not only on the RX, in general too. I'll let others chime in, but that's what I've found.

First determine if it is a problem with your RX or a particular fuel pump.
If it is your RX, then a few things help ,,, dont stick nozzle to the hilt in the filler. If in the past the tank was overfilled number of times, then the vent could be clogged. Vent pipe taps near the top of the filler and runs to the tank. Have that pipe cleaned out.

I have not done it, but the access would be either from below or by removing the filler neck surround.
