Default Rear Wiper Length Mystery

My mail order discount Lexus dealer insists the rear wiper blade insert on my 2002 RX300 should be 16" long. I know I have never paid to have the wiper blade replaced (only inserts replaced) and it is 13 3/4" long. Any ideas? Do you think a mechanic somewhere down the line switched it out without me knowing?

I have an 02 RX and mine is 16" long - I know I've never replaced mine (unless my local Toyota dealer has and I just don't remember - as that's where I do all my maintenance).

For my '99 RX the insert is 16".

The wiper swath should take it over the 3rd brake light (at least a portion to keep it visible).

Some one could have put in a shorter blade. Usually that happens when you go to the inspection station.

What does everyone recommend for wiper blade brands?

I have used Michelin (they squeak so much!) and Anco (good, but looks flimsy). Heard that Bosch is good, but usually much more pricey.

I find nothing wrong with OEM: price, life and cleaning ability.
