Squeaking noises in the morning

Does anyone have that problem? It's freezing cold now and the shocks and struts are squeaking in the morning. After a while, it goes away. What's the problem?

squeaking struts???

i have different... i think its the timing belt or one of those belts in the engine which squeaks in the cold when i start up my engine... its very annoying and its loud...

After leaving the car to sit outside in the cold for a while, i go and start up and the belt squeaks...

so i bought my car into lexus recently and they said it might be a cracked or worn out belt thingy... i dont remember clearly because i was kinda pissed that this service consultent guy wouldn't give me a loaner car while all the other service guy i talked to before did...

but he said they will fix it under warrenty but didn't have the part in stock so they had to order it for me... could had at least told me earlier instead of having to put my car in the back for 1hr 30mins before telling me... (should had came back another day when they told me my regular service consultant wasn't there...)

so just bring it and to lexus and i'm sure thye will fix it...

btw, my leather was ripped/gashed on the side... no idea how it got there so i showed it to them and they have to arrange for some one to come in an fix it for me... all under warrenty :D

better be :p

o yea... btw... 1 more thing.. i had this prob before and all the tech guy did was spary something in the engine bay and the noise was gone... now its back and i'm making them replace it :D

good luck

there's one little problem. Last time they looked at my suspension, I have Eibach pro-kits and they didn't tell me wtf is wrong nor did they fix anything. They just said that my springs caused it and made me pay $110 for them to look at my wonderful springs.

I have the squeaking problem but only in my rear struts. It is most evident when I go over a speed bump (of course, producing the most suspension travel). It is also most noticeable in the cold, but I can still tell is exists in warm weather. I suggested the dealer fix it at my last service interval. They tired, but whatever what replaced didn't fix it, or help at all. I'll bring it up again at the next service interval.

More than likely the rear sway bar bushings, my 99 did it when it got cold, my 01 has never done it.

Sway bar bushings are your likely culprit. T/L uses a material that seems to be a bit prone to this. They can be lubricated as a temporary fix, but eventually they'll need to be replaced since lubeing them doesn't last for long and those squeak free periods get shorter and shorter.
