Where is the best place to put the jack stands and jack
Kinda surprised I didn't find this in the DIY FAQ, maybe because it is so obvious, but I thought there may still be better and worse choices.
Where should I best place the floor jack, and where should I place the jack stands. ?

(could be in the DYI collection thread.)
I didn't have good luck with ramps. I remember trying to drive up on them, and one ramp would slide back so that they became staggered. That was my experience, and I no longer have them.
Extra advice. Simulate an earthquake. Before you get under the car, give it a shake. It might save you.

I have about 10" pieces of 2x4 which I wedge between the ramps and the rise in the garage floor. I still need some one to waive me up the ramps.
Just be safe,
Don't work alone under the car.
Dont trust the jacks.
Jack the structure up and net the springs.
Prop a wheel under and or have an additional jack.
