Default Emblem Shaving!

Wow, shaving the rear emblems from a 99 is proving challenging... ... been using a credit card and WD 40 but its alot of work but getting close to getting it all. I have the Gold Pkg. and the emblems are very tarnished and must be removed. Im replacing the " L " on the back with a cheap knock off to try out. Im replacing the Front also. More parts in today so I will do so more tomorrow.

I don't really like the gold package, too much "bling" for my taste.

If you don't want to buy new emblems you can plasti-dip the old ones.

I googled it and looks like it comes in only 3 colors and gold aint one. Besides that, I ruined them when removing them. Im just going to keep the "L" so thats not much bling to me. The rear looks better to me without the "Lexus and RX300" emblems. But I like the "L" left on there. I mean, its a Lexus! dont be ashamed to show it!

Dental floss has done the trick for me on other cars.

That and fishing line work fine for removing the emblem but does nothing for removing the stuck bonded adhesive from the paint.

I remember when we did that back in Mexico and had to cover over the two holes where the L went and then paint over it.

Use a hair dryer...I debadged my Nissan and heating the tape, and then using dental floss/string made it super easy to remove them.

Debadging a new vehicle is OK, but you must think twice on a old vehicle ,,, you may end up with a shadow due to fading of the exposed paint.
