swap factory tape player
Has anyone sucessfully swapped out the factory tape player and put in a cd unit? Any feedback/help/or plain discouragement because of difficulty is appreciated. I have gone to 3 places and all 3 refuse to attempt it!!!

i added a DIN size head unit under the dactory radio, there is a post about it with some pics (not too good) alot of peeps said they didnt like the way it came out, but at least we know it is possible. someone asked about my mount for my monitor so when i take some pics of it i will take a better pic of the radio if you want and post it

here is a couple more so you can see. in park it is a little cramped but you can still operate everything fine, but i have a remote anyway and honestly never touch the radio itself. in drive it is fine plenty of space to operate. but honestly how often you sit in park and tune the radio...LOL if you try it and come up with some better ideas on where to put a deck please post pics

Thanks for the pics, I know there is a HUGE lack of space there. What did you do with the heated seat controls? Did you have to rewire everything? I desperately want to get this done!!!

I live in the heart of the south, i didnt get the seat warmers its too hot as it is LOL. but i assume you couls rewire to another location, or take out the cigarette lighter and make a panel right there.

I have been trying to find out if there is an aftermarket radio that is available for the RX300 and I haven't been able to find any. I was told by a LEXUS dealer that the LEXUS PREMIUM SOUND SYSTEM that came in my RX300 is a PIONEER and the only replacement for it is the Nakamichi higher end radio/CD/Tape Player, etc..
If you find anything please notify me.
