Smoother idle and 2 mpg loss after cleaning IACV
Hey guys. Cleaned IACV the other day because the car was dying when put into gear on cold start.
After the cleaning the car was running much smoother. On the downside , it dropped down to 17mpg highway.
PCV is not clogged. All air lines are accounted for and in good shape. No codes. Changed plugs back in august . I am at a loss. Any ideas???

In your drive, how long do you stay in idle (stop and go etc). If your idle was low and now it is proper you should be burning more gas. Another thing is typically with fuel and air change, the computer control may take bit to re-position itself, which may take a bit of time ... (swag 2 weeks).

@ carguy - We use nothing but shell 93 and the occasional 91 octanes. That does not neccesarily mean that we dont have bad gas.
@ salimshah - I did not think about that. Do you think I would benefit by pulling the fuse to the computer or d/c the battery?
Thanks for the replies guys. With it being colder outside I should probably go check her tire pressure too.
