2000 RX 300.160K Antenna won't go up or down. Door actuator sticks sometimes. That's it. Original tranny and timing belt. Everything else works like new.

If you plan to keep it, whats you plan on replacing the T belt? 175k, 200k or till it breaks. And how long you intend to Keep the RX? 250K? 300k? If your target is 200 or 300k then you might as well replace the belt now.

I thought someone would nail me on the T-Belt. Time to pull my head out of the sand and get it done. I talk really nice to the T-Belt before long trips like people who talk to their plants to keep them healthy. I did run an Accord for 240k without doing it when I was young and dumb. Thanks for the kick in the pants Salimshah

Default 99 RX300 owned since 2002

Had around 28k when I bought it and has 176k miles now. Only major issue was the transmission had to be rebuilt at around 65k.

90k? really is luck of the draw with these cars huh? is it dangerous when a transmission starts to fail? does it happen slowly or suddenly?

Default 2000 RX300 still rolling at 257000

My 2000 RX300 still rolling at 257000 .
I am the fourth owner so knowing what and when it was replaced is only in my time .
This vehicle looks like it has had the $15 oil and filter service for years as the manifold covers are caked .
I use synthetic in every vehicle and of course do my own maintenance and repairs.
Had it for 2 - 3 years . It was my wifes car until I got her an upgrade to a 2008 RX350 .
We both like the ride better in the older RX .
I hate low profile tires .

Parts replaced by me .
Tie rods (both ends) , ball joints upper and lower , front and back stabilizer connections , front struts ,
Battery , Alternator .
Catalytic converter , OCV/VVT valve (1) , AIC valve ,

If I find another one of these under 200000 , I will buy it .

Default 2000 RX 2nd owner

Driving a 2000 RX300 now with 130K miles. I'm the 2nd owner, got it with 80K miles. Got new timing belts and rebuilt transmission at 110K miles. Been getting vibrations from possibly the engine mounts, also the rear right door locks intermittently works. Other than that, it still drives like a charm. I know I can drive this thing to the ground and contemplating if I should sell it for a newer RX or NX. I just dont like the looks of the brand new RX with the stealth looking grilles. I wish they stayed with the original classic RX look.

2001 RX300. 330,000....................kms. That's about 205,000 mi.

Burns no oil. Never touched the tranny. No engine lites at the moment. I changed the timing belt, tensioner and water pump. When I took out the old belt, it looked exactly like the new one. Wasted a weekend on unnecessary work. Have changed one ocv. Both valve cover gaskets with plug seals at different times. Both knock sensors though the code reader said only the bank one was a problem. Changed one rear strut. Repaired climate control valve under dash once but making noises now. No other issues. Hope for two more years. Fingers crossed.

2002 awd 250,000 miles original owner. Replaced timing belt twice; water pump and all timing pulleys and tensioner once.
All 4 struts replaced.
No trans issues but I replaced the filter twice with many fluid changes over the years.
Oil changed every 6,000 miles with conventional. Switched to synthetic blend at about 150,000. On third set of spark plugs.
AC compressor & condenser replaced last summer.
Left front audio channel went out years ago.
Rear passenger quarter panel rusting.
Car has held up very well.

2001 RX300. 241k. Second owner, but when I got it I was also given a 2 inch stack of receipts and invoices for everything that was done, right down to license plate bulb replacements. Regular maintenance was done on time, and only a few wear and tear items I'd expect to have been replaced.

I need to eventually replace all 4 shocks, belt is due again, front driver door check is worn out (haven't been able to find an aftermarket replacement), and the rear passenger door actuator I'm replacing next weekend. Seems like a pretty reliable vehicle. Compared to my 2000 Grand Cherokee that I sold at 260k and had replaced just about everything on it except for the main drivetrain.

Unhappy lots of miles 2003 RX300 19400

Hi, You all sound so friendly and I am so glad, Because I just bought this Lexus that I love! It is 03 and she told me it had 150000 miles but it has 193960. I now know I cant believe anything she told me about it. I know timing belt is of the essence.I am going to run car fax (I know ...A LITTLE LATE) But she had told me she had them. I ran one car fax and it didnt tell me anything hardly. So I dont know the right one to use. It should cost about 50$ right? There are so many choices, I spent 10$ on one but it didnt tell me anything.Called vin audit i think. Can you tell me car fax to use? There are a lot of lights on to but IT RUNS GREAT!!!
