Default Thermometer

Greetings All,

Could anyone tell me where exactly the temperature displaying the outside temp is read from? A couple weeks now mine has been reading higher than normal by about 6 or so deg. Will check if it is touching a body part or something. Any help appreciated.

Thank you Carguy, saw the sensor and just wanted to be sure. Is it ok to clean with degreaser, fine sand paper and or nail polish remover? It has overspray on it.
