How many gallons after fuel light turns on?
 

Hey guys/gals, I was just wondering how many gallons are left in the fuel tank after the dummy light turns on? I've always been curious.

When my light comes on and I fill 'er up, I only get 13.5 gals in. Go figure (the fuel tank supposedly holds 19.8 gals).

Yeah, I only fill up about 12 to 13 gallons. I don't wait till the light, but I was curious, cause like you said it supposedly holds 19.8 gallons but I never fill up even close to that.

I have once been able to get 16 gallons in it, I ran it down real low once.

I filled 17 gal after I drove 30 miles more with the light on, it was the extreme case I have.

Most extreme case for me was 50 miles. That was done in the mountain of central Mexico way back in July 2002 on the way back from San Antonio (I took the scenic route). With luck I found a gas station and I know I was super, super low at that time.
