Have you considered putting in a tranny from a 330, to essentially have a 330 in a 300 body?

I essentially already had a new transmission(rebuilt) so there was no point in buying the 330 tranny for other than the point that you made(and I didn't have the extra money to spend at the time). I get better gas mileage than the 300 motor but that could be partial to the fact that my last motor had 250,000miles on it. It seems to be quick from a dig, but I've never broken 90 in this thing. It's not my IS300 so I don't treat it as such

Only thing I really wish I had with this car was DVD Nav and the roof racks, but I got an offer I can't refuse on the car so it may be gone by the end of next week..not sure what I'll get next

I traded my 01 RX 300 for my 05 RX 330. There really isn't that much difference in power. But the extra fifth gear in the trans makes it a much better highway cruiser. Now, if you really want to notice a difference in power, drive an RX 350. That 3.5 liter is no joke.
