I own RX300 2001 very good SUV got 140k on it so far. I just find out that the driver inside rear view mirror on the right hand corner of the mirror the black square box in Green letters color, which show you the directions of the car which you are heading Example:S, N, W, SE ect...
Mine is not longer working the green letter turn to 00 can someone help!

I call the dealer they told me to replace the mirror with the component Part $900 install $120 total $1020

Please help! if you know what cause the sensor to not working? with that much cost to replace it, I think it cheaper to buy the GPS.

The compass may just need re-initialization. The procedure is described in the owner's manual. It sounds like it may be a minor adjustment.

 

I had the same problem last year, easy to fix. Do a search on this forum, someone posted intructions while ago how to re-initialization the compass.
