I am looking at purchasing an 02 RX300 with AWD.

I am wondering if an AWD has the same U140 transmission as a FWD. Wondering because I’d like to know if in the future I could swap transmissions if needed with my current 02 FWD.

Never mind. I found a thread that shows the AWD is U140E and FWD is U140F.

As you found out that they are not identical as AWD has one more power output for rear wheels.

I understood your question as can one be bolted in for the other [you will have to deal with the extra output].
