Default Upgrade to wood steering wheel

Found this RX300 taupe with wood steering wheel and airbag on Ebay, and thought I'd let others know.

Is a wood steering wheel an upgrade? I had a loaner and prefer the leather wrapped over the wood. Each to his own, I guess.

I like my wooden wheel, the leather ones tend to get nasty as the years wear on.

I agree with Carver, I've got a wood steering wheel and the only places that look worn after 10 years of use is where the leather parts are.

Meanwhile, have a 11yo GM car with a leather steering wheel and looks/feels like utter crap.

Don't forget, your hands constantly give off oils and other stuff that leave deposits and eat away at things. I'll take a wood wheel anyday, besides they look classier.

Would I pay to upgrade after the fact? No. The wood wheels came with matching interior wood trim, matched at the factory. I know, because I had the dealer replace my steering wheel years ago due to their service folks knicking the wheel constanly. It doesn't exactly match the the other wood trim, the original one did.

i have the Silversport Edition so it has brushed aluminum instead of wood throughout the car, as well as a leather steering wheel. i normally prefer the wood but the leather is pretty nice on this one

I have the leather wheel... Id love to get a wood one.... is it a direct swap into a 99 as long as you have the matching airbag for the new model.. i know the older airbags dont fit inside that newer wood wheels...

Cheers

It is a direct swap....as long as the airbag is a single stage type, and the airbag shown looks like it will work
