Default Driver's Window Sticks

This is an intermetting problem that has gotten worse. The window will go down without any problem, but getting it up can be next to impossible.

I've pulled out the master switch, taken it apart and cleaned it. When I pull the switch to raise the window, I can hear the relay in the siwtch "pop." It just does nothing to the window.

I've seen posts that say its the regulator or the switch. Is there anyway to narrow it down to which of the two is bad?

Thanks.

If the relay is "popping" it sounds like the contacts are probably just burned and dirty from age and use and not able to carry the load to go up since that definitely takes more juice than going down. Is it possible to see the "relay" in the switch? Is it something that can be changed? I often take switches and such apart when they begin to malfunction and clean the contacts, which often returns the function to like new. I seriously doubt it's the regulator.
