Need help with clunking noise front of car when driving over bumbs.rx300 99

 

I have the same problem on my RX. I was told by Lexus and my personal mechanic both that it is the top strut mounts. Nothing to worry about as they do not compromise handling or safety. They will just keep making the noise on bumps/broken pavement.

 

Tom- That answer was dead on. The noise can get pretty alarming over potholes though. When it does get nasty, it's probably time to change 'em, even though it's not a safety matter.
