so my 2000 rx 300's center console module broke and i need a new one. so i was thinking instead of buying the new onw to replace it what do i need to make it into a navigation one. there are plenty of the navigation units on ebay but besides the dashboard module piece what else do i need to get?

There is a guy here on ClubLexus (in Ohio or Indiana maybe?) who took the time and effort to figure out how to do it, and sells kits to convert a non-NAV RX300 to a NAV RX300 with a newer version of the RX NAV. There have been several descriptions of how the conversion went by satisfied customers. In my opinion, if your time is worth anything, just purchase the kit from this guy.

thanks man. i'll try looking for him. cuz i need a new module anyway...since mine won't turn off. lik i have the key in my hand but the screen is still lit and i can still play music. i took it to a mechanic because i dont know that much about cars and he said i need that entire piece.
