I think the tint color on the 1st gen RX is very unique with a greenish reflective color. I have people asking me if I did the tint after market.

 

Hahaha, the last thing I'd want to come across would be a green taint!

 

The story that was discussed here, when the RX300's were new, is that the Dept. of Transportation (DOT) inspectors goofed when they approved the RX300's tint (since mirrored tints aren't allowed). You won't see any other cars on the road with mirrored tints.

 

are you talking about the rear windows or side mirrors? The side mirrors are electrochromatic so they turn green at night when headlight coming on. It's not "tinte" per say. As for rear glass, they don't look green to me...

 

the only other cars on the road with the green tint are the older nissan pathfinders, and some suzuki truck i think.

There is a "green" tint shade that I can see on my RX (2002) when the sun hits the right angles.
