Interchangeable seats?

Looking for some help on changing out seats.
I've got a 1999 RX 300 and the leather seats have seen better days. I've found a couple places to get replacement seats, but they're in about the same shape as the ones I've got.
I found a pair of 2007 seats for a 330/350 that I can pick up for the same price, but don't know if the seats are interchangeable? The owner has another buyer looking but I've got first shot at them if I can tell him something before the 5th.

Any clues what seats for other models will fit a 1999 RX300?

Thanks...

there are a ton of seat cover companies that provide complete leather seat replacements online. Just do a google search. But if you dont feel comfortable installing yourself than you might have to find an installer. Here is a sample:

Thanks...but really need to know what seats from which Lexus SUV's might fit my car. I can get both the 2007 seats for about 500 bucks, which is a lot less expsnive than new covers.

the rx330/350/400h seats from an 04 model to present will not fit the rx300. not only are the bolt patterns different, but side airbags (which are in the lumbar part of the seat) use different plugs. I'm sure you could 'retro' something, but i would NEVER retro an airbag. That's something (safety) that i wouldn't want to play around with...

Just keep looking for used seats on ebay (99-03) that aren't ripped, bring them to an upholstery shop, and spend the $100 to have them refinish the leather.

Thanks for the information....that's exactly what I needed to know.

there's actually a guy on ebay selling the front seats for $449 or best offer. If you send him an offer for 200 shipped he will take it.

I know this because i just bought the rear seats off of him. here's the link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bucke...Q5fAccessories

The origninal ad was for front and back. I asked him if he'd take JUST the rears for $300 shipped and he took the deal. They are from an 02 which will fit any 99-03 Rx300.

Or, there's another auction for front AND rears from LKQ which i've bought several things from in the past. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-00...Q5fAccessories The auction was up ALL last week with starting bid $250 and not even one bid. It's relisted this week for $199, my guess is that no one will bid either. The shipping is $150, but you'd get the rears as well which you could sell yourself i guess... These are from an 01 which will fit 99-03.

You should still get used oem seats than get seat covers. Seat covers will never look right and.. they just spell cheap.

In Texas, you should be able to get the seats reupholstered (leather seating surfaces, vinyl on the rest - just like the factory ones) for the same or less than used seats! Certainly that's the case in So Cal and Florida!

RX Seat Compatibility

1st post, new to the forum but an avid shade tree mechanic so...

Front Seat Bottoms from RX350/RX330 to an RX300? Reason being you can find RX350 cushions in way better shape than the RX300 ones at salvage yards. My RX300 is non-heated, memory, ivory leather. Got an RX 350 and from up top it looks as if they will work and Toyota does not like to change things that work so...Thanks

True on that. So searched this site several ways, no thread. Go to Google, search, redirects you to the forum, and boom, got an answer from an old thread. Sorry for starting a new thread but several searches turned up nothing. Bottom line they are not compatible. The guy that had this RX300 before I bought it for my Mom weighed about 350-400 lbs and destroyed the side foam on the drivers side.

Well, the frames might not work but the cushions really look similar. i just need the cushion. Being non-heated makes it easier.

What about the cushions? Can you get an RX350 cushion bottom to work on an rx300 frame?
