92 Octane Pemex Premium (the only thing certain in my opinion in those last 4 words is Pemex).

The reason I asked is, even though this is against my better judgement,I am considering going down to the 89 octane.Gas prices are just getting too far out of hand around here.

You overlooked the key word Pemex.

Gasoline all over the world is different. Here in USA, it is very volatile.

Before changing grades of gas, check your mileage carefully, preferably over a couple of days or a full tank - whichever comes first. I found, particularly in highway driving, 93 octane gives me a considerable mileage boost, and I'm at a loss to understand why. My out of pocket savings to drop to 87 or 89 is very nearly offset by purchasing 93 and getting more miles per gallon - even when I pay nearly 20 cents premium for the Perrier. My service guy has an RX 330 for his wife, and like mine, has had the same results. No, it's not logical. It could be that the ECM is programmed for the expensive stuff, and while it will run fine on a lower grade by making adjustments in spark advance on the fly, does so with marginally less efficiency, thus the reduced mileage figures. YMMV - literally.

In my limited experience with Pemex on the border, I might question the word "Gasolina" as well. The cheap grades are best filtered through your hat to remove some of the local "additives" - water, rust, dirt, crud, and unidentifiable gunk.

Well, then there's this . . . http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3z...a-gasolina_fun

Gasoline dance, lol.

I am still planning on doing the fuel filter change on Saturday, but this may be subject to change due to work reasons. I will know more on Friday afternoon.

You probably won't notice much tradeoff. I have the unfortunate experience to put in the high sulfur 87 octane just a few times where Premium was not available and there is a huge difference here, but I haven't seen as much with any vehicle I had back in the U.S between those two grades.
