2. Replaced MAF sensor
3. Replaced spark plugs w/OEM
4. Replaced coil pack
5. Replaced gasket between cat converter bank 2- had noisy leak # 2 above solved

Current issues:
# 3 above - Driving has still been less than smooth lately almost if in a high wind as far as response. It Kinda feels a little fishy. Tough to explain. Noticed my tires while still plenty good tread have dry rot. Will look into if this is causing the symptoms and also my shocks
Still dealing with VCS/ABS - disconnected for now.

Happy with it. Retired on SS now and sure hope she makes it another 5-6 years
About 260k ~ drive less now.
replaced shocks/struts all around
replaced bad idler arm
replaced the bad RR wheel sensor solving my ABS problem
replaced front breaks/rotors, a caliper & brake lines
bled/flushed brake fluid with new fluid.
replaced PCV valve
AWheel Alignment

Future projects
During the process discovered a very "light" oil leak at valve cover - might do auto-rx maintenance. Who knows if it would help in any way.
Same on PS unit - will use auto-rx on it and see what happens
lost 2nd light bulb on gear shifter - may work on it?
restore headlamps
tires will get me thru another winter but will replace in Spring.

Shes driving almost as good as new again. The new shock/struts made a big difference

its nice not having car payments. My 01 civic gets me around ( better MPG ) and the Rx still smooth sailing.

Blessings/ well wishes to all.

Default Has your RX300 surpassed 200K miles??

2001 RX300 hit 200K about two months ago. Currently at 205K, and still running strong. Bought used at 60K in '09. My wife's daily driver (approximately 90 miles per day).

Default 01 rx300

Bought my RX300 from parents last year. It's got 150,000 miles. It's in pretty good shape, but had to replace transmission last month. $2745, but worth every penny. Other than that: the climate control vents only work in dash, passenger door locks don't engage, weird noise from behind CD changer from time to time. Low idle - probably needs tune up. I love it though.

Not sure if you are interested in fixing these issues yourself, but if so, search the threads for the following:
Climate control vents only work in dash -> Likely a broken mode servo. Fairly easy to replace
passenger door locks don't engage -> bad lock actuators. More involved fix to replace the motors, but can be done for about $20. Also you can buy aftermarket ones for cheap.
weird noise behind CD -> could be the air mix servo, which is next to the mode servo. Sounds like a gerbil on a wheel. You can clean it and stop the noise
Low idle -> clean the IACV. Tune up will not fix that.

Lexmus,
I have the same noise coming from glove compartment, clicking noise and sometimes the blower will not run unless I slam the glove compartment and even that does not work sometimes so I have to take the cabin filter out and start to turn the blower by hand, then it runs no problem. I would like to take the blower out and clean it and lubricate it, do you have a DYI on replacing the blower?

Default 330k on 2000 RX 300

First owner but came off 3-year lease in 2002 with 20,000+ miles. Have used local Toyota dealership the past 16 years probably saving thousands. Original engine, new transmission at 220K, original cat/muffler. Take it in every 5K whether it needs it or not. 3rd set of Michelins. Followed all Lexus recommendations for maintenance. Still the quietest car we've got and amongst our friends' vehicles. Great sound system as well.

2001 AWD with 209K miles. Original engine and transmission. We bought it used with 63k miles in 2009. Just replaced the exhaust from the cat back. Still runs great, and very comfortable to drive/ride.

I too hear the weird noise from CD changer once in a while but never figure it what is causing it.

My 2001 Rx300 just passed 200k last week. Only replacements: window opener circuit board, climate control motor and antenna. Just the usual maintenance otherwise. I love it!

Default 280,000 2001 rx300

I had a oil leak in the upper oil pan that was supposed to have gotten fixed by replacing the gasket, I don't think that the gasket seal had not hardened enough since it was changed in below zero temps. So on a trip from CA to ID the oil leaked out in the middle of NV and the engine needed to be replaced - very sad as that engine was still working fine except for the oil leak, my only replacement parts on the original was the emission sensors, spark plugs, timing belt. So I am on my second engine and approaching 300,000 miles. I hope to get another 100,000 out of the car as it is still in good mechanical condition and the body, paint and interior are still in good shape.

My 2001 RX300 has 200K +, original engine, original transmission. Just had valve cover gaskets replaced, 4 new Michelin's. Need steering wheel pump replaced...........but it is the best vehicle I've ever owned. I think I've had typical repairs needed on a 17 y.o. car- (but nothing major like tranny) I am the second owner and have the original owners repair record from the Dealership.

2001 RX300. I just bought it last month with 187,000 miles. Based on the service history notes in the manual the original owner took care of it but I think it was neglected a little after he sold it. My mechanic says it looks like most everything on it is still original equipment. I had to replace a rear axle and ABS sensor, but other than that I'm happy and planning on driving it a long time. Going to need new struts soon. Engine and transmission seem sound though.

1999 RX300, 300k miles. Original engine. Not sure about transmission. I think I'm the 3rd owner.
