Default Light in dashboard

There is a light on in my dashboard next to the lights for P R N D 2 3 and it looks like a headlight with it pointing up and down. I checked all my lights and they work fine. I have a 2001 model but lost my manual now have a 2000 manual and apparently this light was there in 2000 so I have no idea what this light means. Anyone know?

could it mean your rear brake light is out or one of them. i had this problem before, my brake light was out, but it was hard to notice because it was one of the double filament bulbs. meaning on filament is on, but when you step on the brakes another one comes on. so you should have someone step on the brakes for you while your outside looking at your lights when they come on.

I tried the brake lights but will look again. The light goes on and off. I do have the HID so what is auto-level malfunction?? (If equipped with HID)

The HID have auto-leveling mechanism which directs the beam downwards when your RX is going up-hill.

There is an actual motor in the headlamp assembly which is driven by level sensing sensors (front and back underbody). The warning you get is when either the motor(s) sensor(s) or the wiring has gone bad. I suggest a trip to the dealer.

OK This light went off when I was driving through back roads in VT BUT when it went off the headlights got worse. They seem like they are pointing straight down, it sucks!
The light continues to stay off now after being on for a couple of weeks but like I said they are pointing down. Any way to fix this without a trip to the dealer where they will charge an arm and leg? But none the less what you pointed out Salim seems to be the exact problem I am having...

Some one (you, dealer or independent) has to diagnose and then repair.

You have to pay the piper or do it yourself.

If you are willing to crawl underneath and at least do a visual let us know. I can get you the position of the sensors (sorry I am unable to post pics).

Correction ... 99 Rx does not have HID .. maybe some one else can.
