Mileage 2002 RX300
My RX now has 175000, although I have given mine to my sister. I still keep doing some of the maintenance. She lives in Vegas, so conditions are much harsher, than here in So Cal. This has been a great forum. I have since gotten a new Rav4, just not same quality as RX .

Bought our '99 new in June 1999. Put 180,000 miles on it since then. Had many of the usual non-wear items replaced (MAF, IAC, cam seals, water pump, alternator) and had to replace the timing belt and tensioners FOUR TIMES during the last 80,000 miles because of a squeaking/rattling noise. Right now it needs brake rotors, a new mode servo, and a leaking CV joint boot fixed (new axle). Could also use the engine mounts replaced but I'm going to pass on that.

Our RX300 is about to hit the 200k mark in the next few weeks...approximately 199,600 . Just did an oil change, transmission drain/ fill, and power steering drain/fill. Just need to drain/fill the rear differential and transfer case oils to be ready for its next 100k.

All, given the history of these cars and the transmission problems they have had, it would be helpful to everyone if you mention if you are on your original transmission, or not.

Hi yall! First post on this forum.
I have almost 170,000 miles on my 1999 Lexus RX 300 AWD. LOVE this car! My grandparents originally were the first owners of this car, still remember sitting in the back seat over a decade ago when shopping in their RX 300. My Grandparents just gave me the same RX 300 a year ago (I'm 19yo) and it's been running really REALLY good.
Grandparents took the car to the dealership to replace the struts before they gave it to me, and once I got it, I replaced the oil with a good quality full synthetic blend and also added in a few engine/oil/transmission cleaners. After all this the car (plus using 91 octane fuel instead of 76 which is what the car basically ran it's whole life) went from 15mpg to now 20-21mpg. Engine is INSANELY smooth, idle produces no vibration and it runs extremely well thru the whole rev range. Still has several things that stopped working years ago like auto door locks, visors not staying up, and interior light bulbs going out, plus sun tear on the exterior but besides that it's been great!
This picture was taken when i first got the car, since then i've taken the AAA stickers off.
